Child Emotion Study

About the Study

This study involves one visit to the Maryland Neuroimaging Center that would last approximately 2.5 hours.  During the visit, children lie in the scanner and watch emotional pictures on the screen. The pictures are age-appropriate and depict items children encounter in everyday life. Children will listen to a story about each picture. In addition to the picture-viewing task, children will passively watch abstract patterns and clips from the movie Toy Story.

Compensation

For your child’s participation, you will receive $25 per hour. Your child will also receive a small prize and a picture of his/her brain to take home!

  • 6 to 9 years of age
  • A native English speaker
