MR Technique Development

About the Study 

Healthy volunteers are needed for the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) study at Maryland Neuroimaging Center (MNC) to test the technical feasibilities and performance of novel MR techniques. This study includes a brain imaging session of appoximately 1 hour and 30 minutes in the advanced 3 Tesla Siemens Tri MRI scanner at MNC.  No special task wil be required in most cases.  

Compensation 

Participants receive $25/hour for participation in the MRI scan.

Participation Requirements 

  • 18-40 years old
  • right-handed
  • Have no metal in your body, including; pacemaker, neuronal implants, metal plates or joints, shrapnel, and/or surgical staples
  • Have no history of drug abuse
  • Not be taking psychoactive drugs, including Zoloft and Ritalin
  • Have no known neurological conditions, including stroke, seizure, brain tumor, or head injury
  • Not be claustrophobic
  • Not be pregnant
  • Have no known heart diseases
  • No eye glasses (contact lenses are fine)
  • No auditory disabilities
